Rob McAleer is a real estate agent with Chestnut Park Ltd. Brokerage, who specializes in the marketing and sale of distinctive properties in Creemore, Collingwood, the Blue Mountains and Wasaga Beach.
Born and raised in Barrie, Ontario, Rob spent many weekends on the slopes of Blue Mountain in Collingwood growing up. He graduated from Eastview Secondary School with honours and then obtained a BA in Economics and Finance from The University of Western Ontario. While at Western, Rob was also a member of the Varsity Men’s Basketball team.
Upon graduation, Rob worked several years as an Internet consultant to corporations eventually leading to a position with GoodNet, the largest Internet Service Company in Phoenix, Arizona where he served as a solution provider to regional ISP’s, corporations and web-based companies. GoodNet was eventually purchased by Winstar Communications out of New York and Rob was promoted to National Sales Manager for Broadband Network Sales.
In 2001 Rob co-founded an online marketing company, Northbound Group Inc. which specialized in lead generation for the Insurance and Investment verticals. Over the course of the next seven years Northbound’s flagship brand, Leadbot.com, became a market leader in the Insurance vertical and was eventually purchased in 2009.
In late 2011, Rob and his wife Kris decided to move back to Canada to raise their three young children and begin the next phase of their lives and careers. After much deliberation, Collingwood was selected for its location, active four season lifestyle, reasonable cost of living and healthy environment for children.
In considering a second career, Rob’s penchant for architecture and real estate led him to secure his Realtor’s license with the intent of using his business and Internet marketing experience to formulate a next generation real estate service. Rob brings a passion, vision, and a deep sense of responsibility to his role as a Collingwood area real estate agent. He sees himself not as a sales person, but a consultant and project manager who helps his clients navigate through the major life event of buying or selling a home or vacation property.
He’s built a loyal following by listening first to fully understand his client’s wants and needs; making sure they understand both the process and the significance of each step; performing the necessary analysis to encourage informed decisions; putting their best interests ahead of making a sale; and being available and responsive 24 hours a day.
